Casual Retail Assistant

This is an exciting opportunity to join Lifeline South Coast and support a local charity that has been saving lives for nearly 50 years. 

 

The aim of this role is to provide support and supervision for volunteers and ensure a safe work environment.

Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Opening and closing of the store
  • Supervising volunteers and the day's operations
  • Ensuring stock is constantly refreshed and is of high quality
  • Ensuring store is tidy and well presented
  • Processing sales accurately using POS system, Eftpos and cash handling
  • Providing high-level customer service
  • Must be available for weekend shifts
  • Adhering to all Lifeline South Coast policies and procedures
  • Other responsibilities as directed by the Team Leader/Trading Manager

To succeed in this role you will ideally have (selection criteria):

  • Experience in retail
  • Flexible availability, including weekends
  • Enjoy working with a wide variety of people
  • Able to multitask and problem solve
  • Experience working with volunteers (desirable)
  • Experience working in a Not For Profit environment (desirable)
  • Awareness of clothing labels and awareness of makers and marks (desirable)
  • Role model for effective Workplace Health and Safety
