Lifeline South Coast is recruiting a Programs & Services Manager.

Looking to grow our range of suicide prevention and crisis support services delivered locally, we are seeking an experienced and passionate professional to join our management team. With 50 staff and 450 volunteers working with our communities in the Illawarra, Shoalhaven and South Coast this is your opportunity to support our mission of suicide-safe communities through connection, compassion and hope.

The Role

The Programs & Services Manager will be responsible for ensuring Lifeline South Coast locally delivered programs are effective, safe, and sustainable. This is a dynamic role,  overseeing existing programs such as community and corporate training workshops, community kitchen, and support groups, as well as implementing new programs and services to meet community need.  This role will cover the broad spectrum of suicide prevention from early intervention and addressing a range of risk factors, crisis support and post-vention. While the role may be involved in the delivery of some programs and services, the focus of the role is managing delivery of programs and services through paid and volunteer teams.

The role is classified under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services (SCHCADS) Award, Grade 6.

The successful candidate will have

  • Experience in the delivery of clinical and/or non-clinical program delivery, coordination and management
  • Experience in managing multiple programs across multiple sites
  • Formal qualifications relevant to the role and/or extensive work experience
  • An understanding standing of suicide and suicide prevention, including the range of factors contributing to increased risk/vulnerability
  • Demonstrated experience in the application of reflective practice, creating a supportive and safe work environment, role-modelling of self-care, and mitigating vicarious trauma and burnout.

Lifeline South Coast is part of the national Lifeline network providing a range of suicide prevention and crisis support services including the 24/7 telephone crisis support line 13 11 14.  Looking after the coastal strip from Helensburgh to the Victorian border, we have been operating for over 55 years. Volunteers comprise 90% of our workforce and are crucial to everything we do. To fund our services, Lifeline South Coast operates a number of op shops as well as our twice-annual Big Book Fair.
