There are a range of volunteer roles available in our Book Sorting section located in Wollongong.
Lifeline’s Big Book Fair fundraising events are a major source of funding for the continuation of Lifeline’s 24/7 telephone crisis support service in the Illawarra and South Coast.

Join our sorting team

The Lifeline South Coast book sorting team are a dedicated, friendly and knowledgeable group of volunteers who manage to sort, clean, research, price, and pack around 200,000 books per year! These books are sold at our Big Book Fair fundraising events as well as the Wollongong and Corrimal Lifeline Shops. There are a range of volunteer roles available in our Book Sorting section located in Wollongong.

Want to help?

All Lifeline South Coast volunteers receive training in policies and procedures.

If you are interested in volunteering for Lifeline South Coast as a Book Sorter, please download the information booklet and application form here. You can return a filled in application form to Lifeline South Coast PO Box 404 Wollongong 2500 or email it to admin@llsc.org.au.

Crisis Support Volunteer

Lifeline provides a National Telephone Crisis Support Service on 13 11 14. The service aims to support people in their time of emotional distress or crisis. The Crisis Supporters operating this service are volunteers and work from offices in Wollongong.

Retail Volunteer

The Lifeline Shops are the financial cornerstone of Lifeline South Coast. They provide the largest portion of funding and allow the continuation of Lifeline’s vital 24-hour telephone crisis support service in the Illawarra and South Coast. There are Lifeline Shops in Wollongong and Corrimal.

Book Fair Volunteer

Lifeline’s Big Book Fair is the major fundraising event for Lifeline’s 24-hour telephone crisis support service in the Illawarra and South Coast. The next Big Book Fair is being held on 19-21 October 2018 at the Illawarra Sports Stadium, Berkeley. Why not join us as a volunteer at this well-known community event?
